Grape Root Borer Moth

Here's one of those amazing hornet-mimicking sesiidae moths - found in the neighboring town of Madison!    As I approached, it started vibrating its wings (sounding like a hornet) and extending and retracting the tufts out of the tip of its abdomen.

What a beautiful, and yet somewhat unsettling creature.
