Ipsilon Dart
Agrotis ipsilon
November 9, 2003

This one is named for the sharp black mark on the adult's forewing (said to resemble the Greek character ipsilon).  They  go by a couple of other names, too, more in reference to the larvae - Black Cutworm and Dark Swordgrass Moth.  They feed on a wide variety of plants and are found pretty much all over the world.
