Elegant Grass-veneer
Microcrambus elegans
June 28, 2013

This is the second Crambidae, AKA Snout Moth (because of the long labial palps), AKA Lawnmower Moth (because they fly out of the grass in advance of your lawnmower).

They do form somewhat of an elegant veneer to the blades of grass upon which they rest.
