Three-lined Leafroller
Pandemis limitata
June 25, 2003

Tortricid number two, and a common one in the yard.  The caterpillars make leaf tubes by rolling them up and use silk to hold them closed.  This serves as their home until they are adults.

I just checked Tortricid number one (White-spotted Leafroller) and coincidentally it was added on June 25, 2002.  So I decided that for now on, June 25 is Tortricidaeday - look for the next one on June 25, 2004.
