Acleris maculidorsana

Finally, a new moth to add to
the site!  I have been coming
across this tiny tortricid for
many years, but couldn't
pin a name to it.  A few months
ago, I had stopped at Hugh McGuinness's
"East End Moths" pages, saw it there,
and made a mental note to double
check it when the moth appeared
in my yard again.  Thanks, Hugh.

The species name "maculidorsana"
basically translates as "spot or stain
on the back", which is fairly evident
in this moth.  It looks like a rust spot on a sliver of metal.
