Delicate Cycnia

I have tons of dogbane growing in my meadow, providing sustenance for the caterpillars of these tiger moths.  The wings do appear delicate - almost translucent - and the presence and amount of orange on the leading edges help separate this species from other cycnias.  They're often encountered during the day.




The photo on the left gives us a little peek at the creamsicle-colored abdomen.

Mmmm.... creamsicles.....
