Filigreed Chimoptesis
Chimoptesis pennsylvaniana
April 8, 2012
I usually don't wrassle with the tiny ones, but this shows up too frequently and it seemed like it had enough of a distinct pattern to allow me to find its name.

Filigreed Chimoptesis is in the tortricidae family; filigree is a kind of design created by interweaving threads or lines. This particular moth is truly ephemeral in these parts, usually on the wing at about the same time the Eastern Phoebe arrives in my yard.
