Happy Tortricidaeday!

Clepsis melaleucana
(Black-patched Clepsis)
June 25, 2004

Last year, the committee who oversees this website ruled that June 25th would henceforth be known as Tortricidaeday.
This decision came about as a result of the appearence of these little leafrollers on this site on previous June 25ths.

What better reason for a holiday than coincidence?  And how does one celebrate this day?  Who the hell knows.
C. melaleucana has never been officially awarded a common name.  However, Bob Patterson took a stab at it on his website where he calls it the Black-patched Clepsis.  I like that name, so I'm passing it on.
