Fervid Plagodis
Plagodis fervidaris
May 12, 2007
In 1854 Herrich-Schaffer looked at this unnamed moth and found it to possess a passionate, zealous quality. He named it Plagodis fervidaris, or the "Passionate Plagodis".
When I came across the one on the left, it was just sitting there doing nothing. Perhaps it was spent from a night of passion.
This is the third plagodis on the site. These geometers all share that bump on the end of the forewings, and are often yellow to straw in color with pinkish to brown markings.
