Just had a hatch of these sphingids
in the area and a handful of them are flying around the yard as I type this.  Compare this moth to the similar day-flying sphinx, Nessus Sphinx.

They are huge fans of buddleia (butterfly bush).
I spent a whole lot of time trying to get a decent picture of these little buggers - they never stop flying!  BUT, I got lucky.  The one on the right came to a landing for about two seconds on a conehead flower, allowing for this shot.
