Yellow-striped Armyworm Moth

The pickin's are gettin' slim.  The nights are cold and windy and the sounds of True Katydids seem to have come to an end.  Still hearing Carolina Ground Crickets trilling in the grass and had this one lone moth show up last night.

Here's the Yellow-striped ArmyWORM. 

I found this little 'pillar feeding on Rattlesnake Plantain flowers.  Thanks to Dave Wagner for identifying it for me.   

They have about as discriminating an appetite as the local deer - 
if its not a rock, they'll eat it.
